Here they are folks, the BEDS!!!
Before I continue, there are two songs I would like to share with you:
1. The Hallelujah Chorus
2. I am Woman Hear Me Roar
Both of these tunes kept playing over and over in my head and occasionally out of my mouth as I finished up. But please don’t try to imagine me singing either of them, unless you like overly loud and terribly off key kind of singing. If that’s the case, than imagine away and allow me to serenade you through the following photos!
Farmhouse Beds Designed by Ana White
Handmade by ME!
While I couldn’t be more thrilled to finally have both beds completed, (which I did all by my lil ole self! No help from hubby on this one) the room still isn’t quite done. It needs some finishing tweeks and more importantly some “Liserizing”. Its a little too “beige” for my liking and the wall behind the beds is way to bare. So that will be my project for the next week, mucking up the wall with some “Liserizing”.
Excuse me for a minute while I pass on some unsolicited advice. If you’d rather not read it, just go ahead and plug your eyes, I won’t mind. In fact I won’t even know!
Okay, if you are like me and have a list of unfinished projects, a problem with procrastination, and maybe even a slight case of self-sabotag-itis, then I have something to say to you:
“Start a blog and admit to a group of friends, family and complete strangers that you are going to finish what you’ve started and give them proof by writing about it and posting photos.”
Am I an expert? Absolutely not, but this is the second project I’ve finished in a three week period, and the last time I checked I haven’t been that productive since 2004 or 2006. Both of those dates are up for debate as they were years we renovated houses, had babies, and generally did a whole lot of wack-a-doodle stuff!
All I’m saying is if you fit the profile this method could work for you too! And if you give it a shot, you have to tell me because I will be your number one fan!
My cheerleader pom poms are still up as I say this too: “If I can make beds, so can you!” Honestly. But don’t just take my word for it, go to Ana White’s site and see all the great things she has made along with her many followers who have also made great things. Or you could tell me to “Go sell crazy someplace else”….
….Ya, but this crazy woman just made two beds, so HA!

Ah HA !!! Your awesome – they came out fantastic! Nothing better then the feeling of ” Well there’s one less thing to trip over” LOL!!! Congrats : )
Hahaha, yes that’s right Patty!! But the way my mind works I’ll just think I have room for some other insane, unfinished project..sigh..I have a problem!
Beautiful job on the beds! You have inspired me to get going on some of my unfinished projects.
There is nothing like completing a task , but having your creation turn out so incredibly is even more wonderful! You have inspired me to expand my “handy man/lady” skills!
Thank-you ladies! Glad to pass on the inspiration! It’s good to see my procrastinating ways have finally been put to good use!
I am SO not plugging my eyes! You are my incredible, wonder-woman, girl! Proud of you! Also wanted to reiterate how much I like reading your blog. It’s the next-best-thing to having coffee with you at Starbucks.
Sorry so late in commenting! I looove the beds. You are amazing. The distressing around the edges and grooves between the boards add so much character and rustic charm! Good job!! xo, CC
