It’s true! We’re moving.
No silly antics on my part this time, just the hard honest truth.
I even have a photo to prove it!
Our awesome realtor Brenda Evans took this photo of us with Sally, the nice lady who sold us her lovely house. She was having a garage sale and we brought her a plant.
Remember the house I talked about here…were I said I found the perfect house…blah blah…but it had an offer on it…blah blah…and I was sad…blah blah….and then I called some poor unknowing people jerks…blah blah…and then I said:
“Even though I won’t be holding my breath, you never know, stranger things have been known to happen”
( you don’t really need to go and read the post if you don’t want to, I pretty much summed up everything you needed to know in between my blah blahing…but it was a good post so if you have the time, go take a gander.)
I kind of did hold my breath…but only a little..and surprisingly, the “strange” did end up happening!
After two previous offers had fallen through, ours was the one that finally stuck. I wish I could say we wheeled and dealed like pros, and calmly sacked it in a matter of days, but the truth is we’ve been scared silly since we started the whole shamazle, and our negotiating was timid to say the least, inching us to the end by the hair of our chinny chin chins! With two previous offers falling through we no longer had the luxury of making our deal subject to the sale of our own house. If you have ever been in that precarious position, consider me patting your back and giving you a huge virtual hi-five because hokey smokes that is stressful!
But we had fallen in love with this particular house, years before it ever went on the market…so we put up with the uncertainty and being uncomfortable, believing it would all be worth it in the end.
After many, many, MANY sleepless nights we have finally ended up on the other side with only a few war wounds. We signed off on the new house yesterday and have accepted a great offer on our current house which will hopefully close this week. If it doesn’t I’m sorry you won’t be hearing from me for a very long time…I won’t have time to write anything because I’ll be too busy losing sleep!!!

Thank-you Marni! I know it was such an unimaginable surprise! We have lots of work to do on the inside so I’ll have lots of blogging material for a while!
Congrats! And I’ve been in that position before (trying ideally to buy and sell somewhat simultaneously)…extremely stressful. So happy to have light at the end of your tunnel!
oh my Anne Katherine..stressful is right!! It was very surreal…but I’m pretty glad it’s almost done!
